I met in one SummerSchool
people from Nigeria. We had a nice talk with them how clever their
people are. Ordinary Nigerian is like everybody in the world in one
difference - they are not so stupid to be fools by the "Nigerian
phishing emails".
Their national language is English, but they have lot of dialects. For doing the spam and phishing job they make mistakes - as it shows there is a person talking nor a robot, as people are more fooled when they will not get a correct email.
To get a virus/or some other thing is more easy when you send them a link with instructions eg. how to remove yourself form the emailing list or proposal what leads to you into the "bad people" hands.
Other is website vulnerabilities. Eg. some uploads a exe what is masked to jpg to the wiki. Server thinks it is a jpg. The user sees the web, users computer is the boss how the web is seen. User computer sees a exe not jpg. Exe is executed and there you have..

Regards ..."
It was a nice email from one of the leading educational technologist who should know better how to protect her account. So it happens to everybody. The thing was when I posted it to my FB account (for warning) I got also a lot of conserns .. people were offering money.. even when they were abroad and not local. FB now translates the text.. so it is more easier to children to talk to locals as well!

It is not nice to fool others. You get a bad karma. Even when somebody does a harm for you , you must look into another way. Just protect yourself and don’t act back. It is international common sense.
