Creative commons

As I explained in my previous post in Estonia has also implemented this option.

I usually don’t allow people to change my texts ((sometimes I allow to use/modify when they share alike), but usually not)), and not to use it for business (as it is my work and nobody should get money out of that).

I had a funny case some weeks ago.

I was approached as one person asked may he use my stuff and exercises form my learning environment for students. The text was about piracy and taking pictures and copyright. HE asked me may he copy all my text to his "book".

I asked for whom the book will be published.

He explained that at first to his students and then he will sell it to publishing company!

Sorry.. how stupid can you be?

He had copy-d all may text, did no changes, expected that I hold up my web page for "whatever" for that and did not offer me any money.

At the same time it launched a problem.

What he does all the things and I will go to court, what will happen. How I can prove that I am the owner of the text and not him... as I understood that not always uploading to the net will not help me (I talked with newspaper journalists).

The advice was that I should a. print the text and send it to me with marked letter b. copy the stuff and digitally sign it.

I usually don’t think of not publishing my data and writings, but now I am more open to also close my environments and digitally sign all the things I create.

This makes u cautious.. as I dont have the time/money to go court. At the same time I am not interested that some stupid people claim that my work is their doing. As I also beleive in karma, I hope he will be punished in someday as Estonia is too small to hassle with other authors in the small domain.
